Louisville equipment repair

Custom work starts with a realistic repair plan

Internal engine and drivetrain work can become expensive quickly. Before a machine is torn down, the symptoms, compression, oil condition, noise, parts availability and overall value are considered. The goal is to determine whether internal repair, complete engine replacement or stopping the job makes the most sense.

CVT and clutch systems are also inspected as complete assemblies. A belt failure may be caused by worn pulleys, a damaged clutch, bearing play, contamination or incorrect parts. Replacing one visible item without checking the rest can lead to another failure.

  • CVT belt, clutch and variator work
  • Drive-case and bearing inspection
  • Top-end and piston-related diagnosis
  • Valve-train and timing work
  • Engine replacement and swaps
  • Custom mechanical and accessory projects

What gets checked

Repair areas

Internal work is approved only after the likely failure, teardown risk, replacement-part quality and total project value are considered together.

01

CVT and clutch systems

Belts, variators, rollers, clutch assemblies, pulleys, bearings, drive cases and takeoff problems.

02

Top-end and timing

Compression loss, valve train, timing chains, cylinder and piston-related concerns, and internal damage assessment.

03

Engine swaps and custom jobs

Replacement-engine fitment, mounting, controls, wiring, fuel and exhaust considerations before installation.

Common symptoms

Problems this service covers

Low compression, belt dust, noise and poor takeoff can each come from several internal faults, so teardown decisions are based on evidence rather than the loudest symptom.

Belt dust or repeated belt failure

Pulley wear, clutch alignment, bearing play, heat and incorrect components should be inspected.

Engine has low compression

Valves, timing, cylinder condition, piston and rings, head sealing or internal damage may be responsible.

Timing chain jumped or failed

The cause, resulting valve or piston contact, guide condition and repair cost must be evaluated before reassembly.

Project is partially assembled

Missing hardware, mixed parts and unknown prior work add time. The condition is documented before repair scope is approved.

Before scheduling

Frequently asked questions

Do you perform piston and top-end work?

Some piston, cylinder, valve-train and top-end repairs are accepted after diagnosis. Parts availability, total cost and the machine’s value determine whether the repair is recommended.

Can you rebuild a CVT instead of replacing the whole unit?

Often, yes. The belt, variator, clutch, pulleys, bearings and case are inspected so only the necessary components are replaced.

Will you take over a project another mechanic started?

Possibly. Partially disassembled or previously repaired projects require an inspection and may need extra diagnostic authorization.
